Jets Make Significant Quarterback Move Before Cowboys Game
Zach Wilson is no longer the Jets' sole quarterback for tomorrow's Week 2 game against the Cowboys.
New York added veteran quarterback Tim Boyle to the 53-man roster on Saturday afternoon as Wilson's backup.
Since Aaron Rodgers' Achilles rupture on Monday night, Wilson was the Jets' lone quarterback.
Yesterday, veteran wide receiver Randall Cobb was the team's "emergenc
y" quarterback.
Boyle joined the Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2018 and backed up Rodgers for three seasons.
He made the Detroit Lions' active roster and Chicago Bears' practice squad.
In 17 NFL games and three starts, Boyle has passed for 574 yards, three tou
chdowns, and eight interceptions.
The Jets will play the Cowboys at 4:25 p.m. ET tomorrow with Wilson as their starter.
