Aaron Rodgers Undergoes ‘Speed Bridge’ Surgery; May Return This Season
Aaron Rodgers of the New York Jets is not ready to quit the 2023 NFL season.
NFL Insider Ian Rapoport reports that Rodgers has undergone a unique surgical treatment to repair his Achilles injury from Week 1 and return to the field in time for the playoffs.
Rodgers' totally ruptured left Achilles was fitted with an Achilles "speed bridge" by world-renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. Neal ElAttrache and his colleagues.
While not certain, this technique may speed up recovery from such injuries.
The Achilles “speed bridge” is a novel exercise to expedite recuperation.
Sources told Rapoport that Rodgers may return in mid-January if the Jets make the playoffs, since the operation could totally restore him in four months.
To speed his rehabilitation, Rodgers may try platelet-rich plasma injections, which Kobe Bryant and Russell Wilson have tried.
Jets supporters wanting to see their great quarterback return will find encouragement in Rodgers' tenacity and the unique surgical method.
